I am writing to thank everyone who was involved in any way with Christian Aid Week, whether collecting, giving, publicising, worshipping, praying, counting, …

The total so far in Sudbury and Great Cornard, including the United Service, is £5,001.79. A poster is attached. This is a good result in current financial circumstances and with several regular collectors unable to take part this year. Late contributions are expected to increase this figure. The final amount last year was £5,606. These numbers exclude Gift Aid, which provides a further boost.

Separate collections are held in some other areas nearby. Long Melford, Alpheton & Shimpling reached their highest total ever, £1962.27, with

Gift Aid expected to add £213.96.

I received an email from the central Christian Aid Week manager which includes a short message from the Archbishop of Canterbury. Although addressed to me, everyone involved deserves thanks. You can View this email online.
