Christian Aid

The late envelopes from Christian Aid Week are now counted, and the final total for Sudbury and Great Cornard, including the United Service at St Gregory’s, is £5,160.90. Gift Aid will boost this figure. Amounts for individual collectors will be available soon. Grateful thanks to all concerned.

 

Fund-raising events for Christian Aid in 2014 outside Christian Aid Week can attract quadruple matched funding from the EU (every £1 raised turns into £4) – contact the Norwich office for details. The concerts on 18 June and 5 July, and the sponsored canoe on 29 June, benefit from this:

 

Wednesday 18 June “Sudbury Sings” choir in concert, featuring guest harpist and guitarist, St Peter’s, Sudbury at 7.30pm. In aid of St Gregory’s Church and Christian Aid. Tickets £7.50, to include a drink and nibbles, available from Compact Music or phone 01787 378590.

 

Saturday 5 July – Folk Concert at Shimpling Church – in aid of Christian Aid and Church funds, 7.30 to 10.00pm. Featuring Sound Tradition, The Bounty Hounds and Green Shoots. Doors open at 7.00pm. Tickets in advance (to end of June) -£8.00 for adults-by calling Richard on 01284 827008 and leave ticket requests-tickets to be issued on the door on the evening. Children Free. Tickets £10.00 for adults on the door. Children free. Refreshments will be available.

 

Tuesday 29 July -– Sponsored Canoe for Christian Aid, Sudbury to Bures, leaving at 9am from The Granary, Quay Lane.
