Marriage Focus Group

The next meeting will take place on Wednesday 31st August 2.30pm at No72.

Key points arising from previous meeting were:

Syd Platt will email his list of trained Christian Counsellors to JC & RP. He will look for a suitable counselling venue in Sudbury, and enquire which Counsellors would be interested in referrals. He will also look for a suitable person to oversee the resource arrangements.

Sudbury Big Sing

This event is taking place on Sunday 4th September at 6.30pm at Sudbury Baptist Church.

Led by Kettle & Fish pianist, Paul Mizen, it is an opportunity to sing favourite hymns and songs, old and new.

Everyone will be very welcome.

Kettle & Fish AGM

Our AGM will be held in St Peter’s on Thursday 8 September, after the afternoon session (approx 2.30).

Elections of Chairman, Manager and Prayer Director will take place, as well as a review of the year and an opportunity to share ideas on how to enhance K&F’s ministry in the town.

Saturday 10 September 7.30pm All Saints’ Church, Sudbury – a traditional jazz concert featuring the Stowe Valley Stompers Jazz Band.

Acton Church Art Exhibition

Acton Church are holding their 11th Art Exhibition from 27 August to 11 September.

Open Monday – Saturday 11 – 4pm, Sundays 12 – 5pm.

Over 200 paintings by East Anglian Artists will be on display, plus demonstrations.

Eden’s Update

Following Eden’s Project emergency meeting last week the Staff and Trustees are overwhelmed with the response to our Appeal, which has reached £12,500 to date plus new standing orders and promises for next year.

Christian Aid: March for Justice

The event is to support some 400 million Dalits (untouchables) in India who are demanding the right to own land, so as to escape from poverty.

Christian Aid will be organising three marches in the East of England. On Saturday 1 October they will take place in Peterborough and Norwich and on Saturday 8 October in Bury St Edmunds.
