They Canoed for Christian Aid

Twelve people canoed from Sudbury to Bures last Tuesday, 29 July, including John Boardman, minister of St John’s Methodist Church, Simon Snell, Christian Aid’s Regional Coordinator for Suffolk and his daughter Charlotte. Sue Kistruck writes: Our six canoes paddled fairly steadily.  Weather ideal – warm with a light cloud cover, and a gentle wind from the NE helping us on most reaches, unlike last year, when the strong winds from SW threatened to blow us back UP stream if we rested on our paddle!  NO rain at all, and no need of changes of clothes. This year’s pleasure was the number of Dragonflies and even more Damselflies, in brilliant blues…

You may have been asked to sponsor one of the group; if not, and would like to contribute, please go to either

where you can donate and, if you are able, include Gift Aid. The event supports projects in the Middle East to help disabled people. The European Union will again provide quadruple matched funding for sponsorship money; this is the last year for this project.
