Sudbury area Eco Church Support Group – Update

14 May 2024 No Comment

Dear Eco Church champions and supporters,

Good news:  We have a new date to meet.  (Apologies for the postponement, and hopefully this time we’ll stay Covid-free!)

Tuesday, 25 June at 7.30 pm at St Lawrence Church, Great Waldingfield:  Encouraging wildlife in churchyards led by Sarah Leedham, the new manager of Foxearth Meadows nature reserve.

We do hope you can make the new date.  Please pass the invitation on to anyone who might be interested.  It will be helpful to know numbers coming so we can be prepared with refreshments.  (Email jowitts@btinternet.com or tel. 01787 464010 / 07584 751093).

Coming soon:

Churches Count on Nature: 8-15 June

A week when people are encouraged to record plant and animal species in churchyards.  It can be a great opportunity to invite people to a community event.  Last year the Lavenham Natural History Society were very helpful in leading botanical surveys in several churchyards.  They are generous in sharing their knowledge!  At All Saints’, Sudbury we once again hosted children from the local school to explore and enjoy nature (and build a bug hotel).

Green Sunday Markets in Market Hill, Sudbury

I plan to run a stall for Eco Church and Foxearth Meadows on Sunday, 16 June (9.30 am – 2.00 pm).  I’ll have a display board to highlight what’s happening in local churches.  Could I display an A4 poster for your church’s eco church journey?  We can help with layout if that is helpful, if you pass on text and photos.

And please do pass on ideas for what you would find helpful for the future.

Blessings,

Andy Jowitt
