as the process unfolds.

supporters who have been part of our journey. If you have any questions, please

An Important Update from The Bridge Project, March 17, 2025.
From www.thebridgeproject.co.uk/important-update/ .
It is with deep sadness that we must share the news that The Bridge Project will be closing
on 29th March 2025.
For nearly 30 years, The Bridge has been at the heart of our community, supporting
vulnerable people through our dedicated team of staff, volunteers, and supporters. We are
incredibly proud of everything we have achieved together, and this decision has not been
made lightly.
Like many charities across the UK, we have faced increasing financial challenges in recent
years. Rising costs—including higher wages, National Insurance contributions, and the
overall impact of inflation—have made it impossible to continue operating. Despite
exploring every possible option, we have reached a point where we can no longer sustain
our services.
Our Commitment to a Smooth Transition.
We know this news will be difficult for many of you. Our absolute priority now is ensuring
that staff, service users, and volunteers are fully supported as we transition towards closure.
We are working closely with other charities, service providers, and funders to make sure that
as many of our services as possible are passed on to trusted partners. Discussions are
already underway about the future of meal services, student support, and other key
programmes, and we will share updates as soon as we can.
A Message from Our Trustees.
“As volunteer trustees, this has been an incredibly difficult and heartbreaking decision. There
were so many outside factors beyond our control which, sadly, ultimately meant the charity
became financially unviable. Our priority now is to work with partners to ensure that staff
and service users are supported through this transition, and we are incredibly grateful to
everyone who has been part of The Bridge’s journey.”
Thank You to Our Incredible Team & Supporters.
At the heart of The Bridge has always been our staff, volunteers, and supporters, who have
worked tirelessly to make a difference in people’s lives.
We want to express our deepest gratitude to:
- Our staff, whose dedication and compassion have been truly inspiring.
- Our volunteers and trustees, who have given their time and energy so generously.
- Our funders, donors, and community partners, who have supported us in so many
ways.
Your commitment and kindness have kept The Bridge going for as long as possible, and we
simply cannot thank you enough.
How You Can Help.
We remain operational until 29th March, and we welcome any offers of support to help our
team in these final weeks. If you would like to offer practical help, financial support, or assist
in spreading awareness of transition plans, please get in touch: info@thebridgeproject.co.uk
.
Looking Ahead: A Lasting Legacy.
While this may be the end of The Bridge in its current form, we are hopeful that the impact
of our work will live on through the individuals and organisations we have worked with over
the years.
We know this is an emotional time for everyone connected to The Bridge, and we are
grateful for the kindness, sympathy, and offers of help we have already received.
Thank you for being part of our story.
