Lent at St Andrew’s, Great Cornard

10 February 2026 No Comment

With Lent just around the corner, I’m writing to advise you of service times and our Lent course offering. All are welcome.

Service of Penitence and Ashing – Ash Wednesday – 6.30pm at St Andrews

Coming together at the beginning Lent to recognise our own limitations and asking for the strength to keep these days as a period of focus on the life of Christ. We’ll be focusing on Is 58 in our reflections of what it means to keep a fast acceptable to the Lord.

Lent course – Nooma – Mondays 7pm In the Bannister Room at St Andrews throughout Lent.

The word Nooma is a play on the Greek term for “Breath of Life”, Pneuma. Through discussion based on a selection of short video’s presented by Rob Bell we’ll be exploring how to navigate life in tune with the breath of God’s  spirit.

There will be opportunities to open our bibles and study, or to reflect through drawing and poetry as much as through discussion as we get to grips with how to shape our lives in the way of Christ.

To get a taster of what the video’s feel like you can watch one of  them here: Rhythm:

If anyone should need lifts to these evening sessions – do please let me know and it can be arranged.
