Community Christmas Lunch
Community Christmas Lunch from Teresa Bishop
Firstly may I just thank all those who supported us this year (especially to Jackie and Bob for buying presents for the children). We had a truly wonderful day and each of us I think felt greatly blessed and privileged to be part of it. The blessings began before the day when one of our regulars who has been a rough sleeper for 15mths found accommodation at Crofton House just a few days before Christmas. He in turn became a blessing to someone else when he took a wheelchair along the Melford Road to collect an elderly man that could no longer walk and would have otherwise been alone in not very comfortable conditions.
It is amazing how the gift of music and song really brings a group of what is in effect strangers together. We were joined by four men each with varying degrees of mental health issues but with the God given gifts of music and song . It was a very humbling experience witnessing the joy that radiated from them to everyone present We had around 40 guests aged from 3yrs to late 80’s. A truly memorable day.
