Churches Together Open Forum and AGM

Monday 5 October at St John’s Methodist Church, York Road, at 7.30pm, with refreshments from 7pm.

Here are:

• Annual Report , including reports from our chairman, Jim Stewart, and from 15 of our linked organisations;
• Annual Accounts – please look at the notes as well as the figures. Our bottom line will soon fall by about £2,600;
• Officer Role Descriptions – all positions require nominations, and we are especially keen to fill the gaps for vice-chairpersons;
• Officer Nomination Form – to be returned by Friday 2nd October.

To help you encourage attendance and participation among colleagues in your church, I am repeating items from this week’s Church News.

Churches Together

Do you value the opportunity to join with members of other churches to worship, pray, learn, study, serve the wider community, take Bible stories into schools, and share fellowship? Then please consider becoming involved with Churches Together in Sudbury & District.

Our AGM & Open Forum is on Monday 5 October at St John’s Methodist Church, York Road, at 7.30pm, with refreshments from 7pm. The meeting is open to all local churchgoers. After a brief business meeting with elections of officers, there will be an opportunity to hear about two of the many organisations that CTiS&D supports:

• Future Vision, which takes the Chrisitan message into many local schools; and
• Sudbury Fairtrade Group, which is working towards renewing Fairtrade Status for the town, and encouraging churches to obtain or renew their status.

There will be an opportunity to ask questions and to give your views, which may include a review of the aims of CTiS&D and how local churches can work together to be an effective Christian presence in the area. Do come along, and bring others.

The Annual Report, summarising activities of CTiS&D and linked organisations for the past year, the Financial Report, and nomination forms for officers, will be available soon.

Churches Together Needs You!

We, CTiS&D, are seeking to strengthen our leadership team. We have been operating without vice-chairs recently. Can you bring fresh ideas or organisational skills to our committee, or do you know someone who can? Please use a nomination form.

Does your church lack one or both its representatives to CTiS&D? Perhaps you could fill that gap. Representatives are appointed by individual churches, using their own procedures.

Please consider prayerfully whether one of these roles is for you.
