Archbishop Simon of Sudbury by Andrew Phillips

25 January 2022 No Comment

A talk at The Sudbury Society about Simon of Sudbury, Archbishop of Canterbury during the late 14th century.

Andrew Phillips will be exploring whether this son of Sudbury was a hero or tyrant, and it should be a fascinating talk!

Simon of Sudbury was Archbishop of Canterbury and Chancellor of the Exchequer until his violent death during the Peasant’s Revolt of 1381.

Everyone is welcome to attend. There is a small entry fee to cover expenses (members £3, non-members £5) and refreshments are provided. It will take place this coming Thursday, 27th January, at 7pm in the Assembly Rooms at Sudbury Town Hall.
