SVV Christmas Hampers Online Shop is Launched

Some of you may be aware that Stour Valley Vineyard has been involved since its inception with serving the poor in our community through its outward-focused projects such as  Storehouse. Working through referrals from social services, housing trusts and other voluntary organisations, it provides weekly emergency food bags, a furniture recycling service and CAP money courses. Over the last three years at Christmas time it has also helped to put together special hampers to be a blessing to those in greatest need. The last two years, in particular, we have enjoyed working closely with Peter Sebbage and Churches Together.

This year, to make life a little easier, we have a launched an online shop where we are inviting local business, churches, families and friends to go to make a special donation to help put together a hamper to bless someone in need. The deadline for gifts is Saturday 10 December. We will then put together the hampers for delivery in time for Christmas Day.

Online Shop

We would love it if you could partner with us and help make this a blessed Christmas for someone near you.

There are 4 ways we can all be involved:

  1. Go to the shop and make a donation
  2. Spread the word to your churches and contacts (Powerpoint Sunday notice slide and A4 poster attached)
  3. Volunteer some time to pack
  4. Pray that the hampers go to the right people

To offer help or for more info, please contact: storehouse@stourvalleyvineyard.org or ring 07973 710905. Alternatively, the SVV church office: office@stourvalleyvineyard.org

Andrew adds:

We are very happy for people from other churches to buy and collect their own items for Hampers and pass them to our Storehouse Team. That would be fantastic. We are awaiting to know if an empty premise in town will become available to us rent free, so we will need churches and individuals to store items until, say around 10 December. But we will give further information once we know more details. Again, same with volunteering details.
