The Salvation Army – 140 years in Sudbury

16 June 2022 No Comment

The Salvation Army ‘opened fire’ in 1882, and on the 25th and 26th June, we’re taking the opportunity to celebrate, and praise God for His faithfulness to us over the last 140 years. You are so welcome to join us over the weekend.

On Saturday 25th June, we are opening the Hall up for an Open Day and Coffee Morning. We will be sharing some of the local Corps History and our stories and heritage. There will be an opportunity for people to share their own stories and connection to the corps. There will be cake and activities for children! Pop-in and see us on Saturday, from 9am-12pm.

Then, at 5pm, we are hosting ‘The Generation Game!’ An evening of fun and competition, for all-ages! Meal included! It will be nice to see you there! Book your tickets by coming into the shop, or calling the Hall, or emailing rachel.hepburn@salvationarmy.org.uk .

On the Sunday, Majors Jonathan and Vickie Harvey, Salvation Army Officers from the USA, will be leading us in worship as we thank God for His faithfulness over the last 140 years. It will be a really special part of the weekend. 10.30am – you’d be so welcome to join us! Followed by a picnic in Cornard Road – address provided on request. (Bouncy Castle included)
