Sudbury Fairtrade Group
Nicki Dixon, a member of All Saints Church in Sudbury, has been elected chairman of the Sudbury Fairtrade Group.
She’s very much looking forward to relaunching the group to the wider community, getting the Fairtrade name out there into schools, community groups and churches and maintaining Sudbury’s status as a Fairtrade Town.
Two primary schools have already expressed an interest in Fairtrade projects and Nicki hopes more people will join her and the committee to help spread the world. See the poster attached.
Oxfam in Sudbury have agreed to display a poster inviting new members and Nicki has also booked a stall at the annual Ballingdon Fete on Sunday September 6 where she’ll set up displays and offer tastes of Fairtrade drinks and snacks.
She is also looking into small grant funding from local authorities to allow for reprinting of local leaflets, display boards and other local material.
Anyone interested in finding out more can contact Nicki on info@sudburyfairtrade.org.uk
The next meeting of the Sudbury Fairtrade Group is at 3pm on Tuesday March 10 at Malcolm Offord’s house, 98 Melford Road, Sudbury.
