Sudbury Christmas Tree Festival 2012
Sudbury Christmas Tree Festival 2012
(CTiS&D and many individual churches have trees in the festival)
The tenth Christmas Tree Festival will be held in St Peter’s, Sudbury from 5th to 9th December, when it is anticipated there will again be more than 80 individually decorated trees enhancing the beauty of this ancient church.
Following an official opening during the evening of Tuesday 4th December, the Festival will be open to the public from Wednesday to Sunday from 10am. A modest entrance fee of £1 will be charged to all visitors over 12 years of age.
The festival is organised by the Rotary Clubs of Sudbury and Sudbury Talbot, and this year proceeds will go to the following beneficiaries: East Anglian Air Ambulance; The Friends of St Peter, who care for the building; and the Rotary Clubs of Sudbury and Sudbury Talbot, so they can continue to support a wide range of good causes. Last year’s festival raised more than £4,600 for charity.
The Rotary Clubs of Sudbury and Sudbury Talbot invite you to escape the stresses of daily life and allow your Christmas to begin in the beauty and tranquillity of St Peter’s, adorned with the twinkling lights of the myriad trees, and accompanied by seasonal music provided by volunteer musicians including church and other choirs, organists, pianists and handbell ringers. Refreshments will be available each day, courtesy of Churches Together who will be serving tea, coffee, hot chocolate, squash and biscuits from the Kettle & Fish café.
