Storehouse: your invitation to get involved

Storehouse is a compassion ministry set up by Stour Valley Vineyard and it is busier than ever responding to a very noticeable growing need among troubled people in our community.

Since March we have given out nearly 90 emergency food bags to local families and individuals in crisis. And the requests for help are continuing to rise. We want to do so much more to demonstrate God’s grace for people in crisis, and so would love other churches and organisations/businesses to partner with us.

We are operating another Storehouse Foodbank at Waitrose on Saturday 6 & Sunday 7 July. If you free to help with either doing a two-hour slot at the supermarket or with sorting, we would love to hear from you. It really isn’t so much hard work as a privilege. You feel so humbled and thrilled when a complete stranger comes up to you with a shopping trolley full of donations.

As a result of the Christmas foodbank we have now six Storehouse Collection Points in the town and surrounding areas with partnering churches and organisations. We have a target to see another ten added this year. In particular, we would love to see Collections Points in Long Melford, Acton, Great Waldingfield, Glemsford, Clare, Cavendish and Hadleigh.

Maybe you could help in another way by helping to deliver emergency food bags or help out with the weekly ‘drop In’ centre.
