The King James Bible and the English Language
To mark the 400th anniversary of the 1611 King James Bible, David Crystal‘s book, Begat, examines the way English has been shaped by the language of the Bible.
‘No book has had greater influence on the English language’, wrote one commentator. True or false? The surprising answer is: both.
David is to give a talk in the Lady Chapel of Holy Trinity Church, Long Melford on Sunday, 31st July at 7.00pm.
