I-Spy Easter

I-Spy Easter

At Churches Together AGM last week, Major Tom Crozier said “we have an amazing message to pass on”.  Then Andrew Buttress from Spectrum mentioned ways to bridge the gap between Christianity and community.

I-SPY EASTER can do both!

Plans are in hand to run this exciting Children’s Party and Competition on Easter Saturday next – 30th March 2013.

This was a hugely successful event in 2011 which outreached children and adults and we estimate that we spoke to well over 200 about Jesus and the Easter message!

Each child is given a card, they then spy out the Easter characters (in costume) roaming the market, have their card signed and when completed they receive a prize.

Inside St Peter’s 2011 the children’s activities were:  Art / Drumming / Card Making / Crafts / Laminating / Face Painting / Dancing / Quilling / Plane making and flying / an Easter garden. New ideas will be welcomed.

We distributed free gifts and Easter comics and closed with a short drama:  when asked “Were you there?” each character explained his/her part in the first Easter.

We are asking each church to provide and man an activity.  Also we need a dozen or so characters brave enough to witness to Christ by wearing a costume and being willing to talk of their faith.  Our 2011 characters felt surprisingly free to do so!
