Give it up for Storehouse

To mark the beginning of Lent on Wednesday 13 February we would love to invite our fellow churches to come alongside us and be part of an exciting new 40-day initiative for Storehouse foodbank.

As part of your own journey to the cross at Easter, you may already be thinking about giving up chocolate, coffee, wine or another little luxury or comfort thing.

So  we thought this year, why not use the money saved and put it towards providing Storehouse emergency for  families or individuals in crisis and help pay for supporting services? We will then be able to do even more for those who have no option but to go without.

We want to make ‘Give it Up’ as easy as possible, so we suggest bringing any non-perishable items along to any of our Storehouse Collection Points in town. Alternatively, you are free to give a financial gift. (Please make any cheques payable to Stour Valley Vineyard and write on the back ‘Storehouse’.)

For food ideas, see our church webpage. You can also download an A4 Give it Up poster for your church.

If you would like your church to become a Storehouse Collection Point as part of our all-year-round compassion ministry programme, please contact the SVV Storehouse Team for more details. Tel: 07973 710905. Our Storehouse team leader is Beryl Worvell. She’d love to hear from you.

Meanwhile, many thanks for your ongoing loving support. It really is so humbling! We are all sensing now that we have to do even more to ‘prepare the Storehouse’ for increased hardships for many families and individuals, which are widely forecast nationally. Our hope and prayer is that we are ready to meet the challenge.

For His glory.

Andrew Stewart-Darling, Senior Pastor, Stour Valley Vineyard Church
