Churches Together in Suffolk
Churches Together in Suffolk
from Julie Mansfield
Dear All,
Remember me? I’ve been laying off the ‘issues’ emails but here are two things for circulating:
The first is such a good idea I just had to share it with you. It comes from Pam Bayliss who is the Methodist minister in Halesworth. Pam writes:
Halesworth Methodist Church hosted a Knit Bunting Day! We are still adding to the string, which we will use at our Jubilee celebrations and then pass on to the MHA The Martins in Bury St Ed. to use at their Golden 50 year celebration. Other strings may go to local homes for use at Garden parties etc., over the summer. So they will not be wasted! I find lots of our older folk love to be involved and this helps them to still feel part of things. They can knit at home!! Hope some of your local churches will join in too. See Bunting-letter-reply-slip.pdf.
Pam
The second comes from Jane Stretch, Administrator at St Peter and St Mary’s Church, Stowmarket. Jane says:
Stowmarket Festival begins this year on 1st June and Churches Together in Stowmarket is organizing ‘An Evening with Geraldine Latty’ on Friday 1st June at 7:30pm, which is being held at St Peter and St Mary’s Church. Geraldine is a well known and respected worship leader, and led the worship at this year’s Spring Harvest, so we are delighted she is able to come for this event. It should be a truly inspirational evening. Our aim as Churches Together is to provide a good quality Christian input into the week of Festival events.
Tickets are £5 and are available from the church office, 01449 774652, or via e-mail: stowmarket.parish@tiscali.co.uk. See Poster-Geraldine-Latty.pdf.
That’s all for now. Please do send me your news and ideas for circulating.
Julie.
