Christian Aid Adventure – further information
As there is no formal canoe trip this year, Richard Stanford, a member at St John’s Methodist Church has pledged to travel down the river Stour from Sudbury to Cattawade in a boat of his own making in order to raise funds for Christian Aid. He started on Monday 3rd August and travelled from Sudbury to Bures ( picture attached) and hopes to continue in 5 stages. Anyone who wishes to provide sponsorship can do so via https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Stanford2020 . We are hoping that the money will be allocated, as last year, to the Christian Aid project in Kenya supporting Orphans and Vulnerable Children which receives X20 extra funding via USAID. This is not yet confirmed. Read about the project at https://www.christianaid.org.uk/about-us/programmes/case-ovc-programme .
A picture of Richard’s boat is attached. The bottom is an old tabletop, the seat a chair from Bradfield chapel and the prow comes from the Stowmarket manse!
