Canoeing for Christian Aid

On Thursday 17^th August there will be another sponsored canoe trip down the River Stour, starting at Wissington and finishing at Stratford St Mary.

Revd John Boardman, Richard Stanford and Jane Martland of St John’s Methodist Church, and Simon Snell, Regional Coordinator for Christian Aid in Suffolk, are among the ten taking part.

If you are able to sponsor one of the participants, that would be greatly valued.

The amount raised will again be quadrupled by the EU and will go to a project in Central America, “Empowering women and girls”, to help marginalised women and girls in El Salvador and Honduras to secure their rights.

Last year more than £2,000 was given by sponsors, which resulted in about £9,000 for the projects after Gift Aid was added.
