Pentecost Sunday, 31st May

We have some good news! Bow Down, our joint churches Pentecost Sunday prayer event, part of the archbishops’ Thy Kingdom Come prayer initiative, which was held last year for the first time, is happening again – just indoors!

We are busy making final preparations and will be sending out the Bow Down 2020 Prayer Guide with more details shortly to all our local church ministers to pass on to you all. The format will be similar to last year. We will be gathering at 9pm, in the evening, where we will be praying for our nation, town, streets and villages for 15 minutes. At 9.15pm, to coincide with the sun setting, we are, then, encouraging everyone to come out, if able, to stand in front of their homes, in their gardens or, even better, on their streets, to pray a prayer of unity and peace over our communities. We believe this will be a significant evening and are trusting that the Spirit of Pentecost will be poured out into our neighbours’ homes, schools, key workers and local businesses. We are praying for our community to experience the non-anxious presence of Jesus at a time when our lives and livelihoods have come under threat. Hope you can join us.

Meantime, more resources on this year’s plans for Thy Kingdom Come, can be found here. We, particularly, like the new Digital Family Prayer Adventure Map! Watch here.
