A New Year message, from Peter Halden, CTiS&D Chairman
All our Christmas celebrations are over and most of the people in this country and, I suspect, worldwide will be counting the cost (or reeling under the weight of an enormous credit card bill). It is a time when everybody is noticing how much more everything costs and yet most seem not even to notice what the reason for the celebration is. Maybe as we celebrate we should reflect on just what the ultimate cost was to Jesus – Christmas being the start of the journey to Easter.
Sometimes I don’t think we celebrate enough – this year we, as a family will have had two Christmas celebrations 3 weeks apart and, hopefully, as we sit down to celebrate on Christmas Day we will also be celebrating the safe arrival of our second grandchild. Let us this Christmas shows people how Christians can really celebrate without breaking the bank in the process.
From all at Churches Together in Sudbury & District we wish you a healthy and prosperous New Year – “Come on and Celebrate”.
Peter
