Yet again amazed by numbers – as Greg said, ‘Praise the Lord for the response!’ – an eager expectation was evident. It was a wonderful start for the Lent Course with the message that we should pray because God wants us to trust him. A pity that the sound system let us down but Greg did very well, the worship was thought provoking and Compline, beautifully led by Helen, gave a peaceful end to the evening.

The film insert was difficult for some people to hear, but the messages that came from it certainly set our table talking very earnestly and we enjoyed the opportunity of interacting with each other. The idea of discussion tables was good – it was exciting to see who would join the table – and no problem finding a leader.

Thank you for all the thought and planning that went into last night and, I’m sure that I speak for many of us when I say that we shall look forward to joining the House Groups next week………… A big thank you for organising the extra groups for those who do not have such a group within their churches – I am very grateful for that.

This Lent will surely be a great time of blessing …..and prayer.
