Week of Prayer for Christian Unity 2017

The Week of Prayer is an annual worldwide event. It is a great joy to meet with members of other churches; please come to as many of these days as you can.

For Sudbury & District:

Our week began on Sunday 15th January with a full congregation at the United Service at Sudbury Catholic Church. The service was led by Father Peter Brett assisted by representatives of other local churches. The preacher was The Revd Canon Cheryl Collins of St Gregory’s. The CTiS&D Covenant was signed by 60 church leaders and others from 17 churches. Please see a copy of the Covenant and the related letter.

The week continues:

  • Day 4: Wednesday 18th January, 12:30 St Andrew’s, Great Cornard
  • Day 5: Thursday 19th January, 12:30 St John’s Methodist Church, Sudbury
  • Day 6: Friday 20th January, 12:30 United Reformed Church, Sudbury
  • Day 7: Saturday 21st January, 8 – 9:30 am Prayer Breakfast at Suffolk Road Church
  • Day 8: Sunday 22nd January – nothing arranged in Sudbury

Refreshments will be provided after most services.

On Sunday 22nd January at 6pm at Preston St Mary church (CO10 9NQ), Lavenham Benefice have an ecumenical service using material and ideas provided by ‘The Churches Together in Britain & Ireland’.
