Christian Aid

(My apologies – this should have been included last week. MS.)

Sudbury Churches Together welcomed Zeina Zakar from one of Christian Aid’s partners in Lebanon, Association Najdeh, to Sudbury on Monday 26 November.  She spoke simply and movingly about her work to support Palestinian refugees in Lebanon, an overlooked group of people, some of whom have been there for decades.  Through people’s support for Christian Aid, Association Najdeh brings psychological support, education and counselling to thousands of children and women especially who are affected by the trauma of war and the risks of living in the camps.  We were grateful for the hospitality, cakes and refreshments provided by The Apostolic Church on Gregory Street.

Simon Snell, local coordinator for Christian Aid in Suffolk said “This year’s Christmas appeal features Association Najdeh, and a significant amount of money from the appeal will go to support that work, as well as other work to build peace and help communities raise themselves out of poverty.  Find out more and to order peace doves and Gift Aid envelopes at www.caid.org.uk/christmas.
