Advent Course: Making Room

At St John’s Methodist Church, we often run a course in Lent but I thought it would be interesting to do one in Advent, as we prepare ourselves for Christmas.

I am running a York Course entitled “Making Room”. It will be on Wednesday mornings at 10:00am at St John’s. Dates are: Dec 2nd, Dec 9th, Dec 16th and Dec 23rd.

Canoeing down the Stour for Christian Aid

Canoeing down the Stour for Christian Aid

On Thursday 13 August, ten people, including Revd John Boardman, Simon Snell, and teenagers Judith and Matthew Gill from All Saints’ Church in Sudbury, arrived safely in Bures after paddling from Sudbury. This year the event supports a Christian Aid project to make pregnancy and birth safer, prevent HIV, reduce underage pregnancies and tackle gender-based violence for over 200,000 indigenous women and girls in Honduras and El Salvador.

Folk Concert at St George’s, Shimpling

Saturday 13 June Thank you for all who supported and came to the folk concert at St George’s Church, Shimpling on Saturday 13 June. It was an enjoyable evening with about 90 or so people in attendance, doubling our audience from last summer’s folk concert. We raised a grand total of £607.88 of which £303.94 will go to the Milkmaid folk arts project and their plans to build a folk arts centre, close to Bury St Edmunds railway station ,which will ..read more
