Our last quarterly Forum was on Thursday 8th December 2011, 7 for 7.30 pm at Cornard Christian Fellowship. Agenda, Finance Report and Diary dates attached.

In addition to the usual reports, news and plans, we have a speaker:

Terry Tennens will tell us of the work of International Justice Mission UK. He is the Executive Director.

Refreshments will be available from 7 pm.

Wednesday 15th June, at Glemsford Methodist Church, Tye Green, CO10 7RH.

This will be hosted jointly by Glemsford Anglican & Methodist churches.

There will be a barbecue and refreshments from 6.30pm.

The meeting at 7.30pm provides an opportunity to bid farewell to Neville and Yvonne Andrews who move to new Salvation Army posts in July. We shall hear news of the two Glemsford churches, and there will be a presentation by “Perspectives”. A poster is attached.

Perspectives Pregnancy Advice is a Christian charity based at The Fletcher Centre, Ipswich. We will be attending the Churches together meeting in June to provide further explanation about what the centre offers. We will also be running a training course in June for people who would like to become advisors and support women and their families who are experiencing unplanned pregnancy, pregnancy loss and post abortion stress. Churches Together Open Forum

Wednesday 2^nd March (changed from Thurs 3rd March), hosted by Springlands Christian Fellowship at Woodhall Primary School, Mayflower Way, Sudbury CO10 1ST, at 7 for 7.30 pm. (Turn off the bypass at the Focus roundabout into Richard Burn Way, take the next turning on the left into Mayflower Way and follow the road round to the school.)

Eldred Willey will be presenting a Christian Aid Roadshow. Eldred is Coordinator for Christian Aid in Norfolk and Suffolk, and we are delighted to welcome him to Sudbury once again.

In addition we will hear about both Springlands Christian Fellowship and Future Vision, including the work in schools of the n:vision clubs, Open the Book and Lifepath.

In addition to the usual business of reports and elections, Major Wendy Goodman (Salvation Army) from Ipswich  spoke about her work in Haiti.

Nominations for Officers for Churches Together were needed by 28th September ready for the AGM on 7^th October.

The Officers are: Chair; one or more Vice-Chairs; Treasurer; Executive Secretary; and Minutes Secretary.

Some current officers are willing to stand for a further year but new applicants are always very welcome. In particular, we are seeking an Executive Secretary. If you think you could serve the churches in one of these roles, or know of someone else who might, please contact one of the current Officers or one of your church CTiS representatives.  They will be happy to explain what the various jobs entail. Open Forum at CCF Dec 2009

Nearly forty people from thirteen organisations gathered at Cornard Christian Fellowship for the Open Forum. We started with a time of worship and prayer, and an outline of recent developments at the host church. After considering organisational and financial matters, we heard how Christians Against Poverty’s CAP Money courses help people to learn how to manage their own money, and of the need for greater publicity of this work.

Churches Together is involved with a wide range of activities, and we had reports of some.

Town Pastors are already on the streets of Sudbury, and hope to extend to more evenings with more volunteers.

The Marriage Focus Group continues to promote Christian Marriage and support couples encountering problems with their relationship.

Planning for Easter Story in Sudbury on Saturday 3 April is well under way, although some roles remain to be filled.
